Based in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Second Nature Contracting was incorporated in 2006. Still a small company Second Nature Contracting (SNC) has done an amazing collection of work in the areas of ecological restoration and naturescaping (landscaping using native plants). We have produced on both small and large residential planting/landscape jobs, completed some slope stabilization projects, worked on a large foreshore embankment protection venture, performed on a few stream restorations, and did some invasive plant removal treatments. Our experience in these endeavors has been as both the general contractor and as a specialized sub-trade, on both installation of preplanned projects or implementation of design-build ventures. We have worked with municipal governments, engineering firms, construction contractors, landscape architects and environmental consultants. Our professional attitude and enjoyable work demeanor has gotten great feedback. To quote a client,

The owner, Ryan Jackson, prior to starting Second Nature, has worked for five years as an onsite supervisor and project coordinator for another local environmental restoration company. He also has experience in the construction and silviculture fields, as both a foreman and laborer. Outside of the ecosystem restoration work, he has completed multiple renovation projects including restoring a large home of his own. He is still very active in the field as that is where his enjoys the work the most.
